Troop 70435 – BackPack for Kids

IMG_8896

Kenston Service Unit second grade troop 70435, led by Lindsay Altmann and Heather Doyle, visited the Greater Cleveland Food Bank on the evening of Monday, April 20.  The girls packed 444 bags used for the BackPacks for Kids Program, where the Food Bank provides bags of food for needy families.  The bags are discreetly placed in a backpack at school and sent home with each child on Fridays to sustain them through the weekend.  The girls worked as a team together to pack, weigh, tie and box up each bag.  We learned that the Food Bank provided 45 million meals last year.  Amazing!  We can’t wait to visit again next year.
